Wine Down Box is a unique gift idea because the recipient receives not just wine, but a cheese and charcuterie spread to pair with it. I like the idea of this quite a bit. Knowing that time was spent to pair the wine with the gourmet goodies included makes me want to enjoy them together. By giving this as a gift, you are also giving the incentive to relax, unwind and seize the moment. Now that is my kind of gift!
Wine Down Box includes curated wines from the best small-batch California wineries and delivers them with artisanal cheese, handcrafted charcuterie, and scratch-made crackers. Yum!
In each delivery, your wine lover will receive:
- Limited Production California Wine – (1 btl.)
- Fresh Artisan Cheese – (~8 oz.)
- Delicious Charcuterie – (~2-5 oz.)
- Hand Made Crackers – (2 oz.)
- Wine and Cheese Pairing Sheet (pairing specific)
- Personal Note (in first shipment only)
To give an example of the quality wine and gourmet goodies in each shipment, here is the description of a recent delivery from Wine Down Box. Sure sounds great to me!
JULY 2017 PAIRING
2013 Brisa – White Blend
Enriquez Estate Wines – Sonoma Coast, CA
Sage & Herb Cheese
Plymouth Artisan Cheese – Plymouth, VT
Alle-Pia Fine Cured Meats – Atascadero, CA
Cecilia Enriquez and her family formed Enriquez Estate Wines with a simple mission: create wine worthy of sharing with family and friends while keeping true to the ideals of their family. Their 2013 Brisa is certainly no exception — it is refreshing white blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Muscat that is perfect for any summer get-together. It is bright and crisp with ripe peach and melon, and subtle floral notes embraced by a vibrant acidity.
We’ve complimented this wine with a Sage & Herb cheese from Plymouth Artisan Cheese. The aromatic sage, thyme, rosemary, lavendar and oregano build upon the sophisticated floral character of the wine, without overpowering any other components.
Salami Cacciatore, which translates into “Hunter’s Salami”, is a mild and well-balanced salami that has a lighter taste than most other varieties. It is flavored with Chianti wine from Italy and fragrant juniper berries, which further accentuate the wine’s ripe fruit and subtle floral notes.
*Each pairing includes a delicious bag of artisan Nita Crisp wheat bread crackers.
You can send a one month gift, or give a gift that keeps on giving and have a delicious, relaxing break delivered for months to come.
- One month gift ($70)
- 3 months ($204)
- 6 months ($390)
- 12 months ($756)
This is a great idea for the holidays, a birthday or any time to indulge the wine lover in your life. It’s different because it’s more than just a bottle of wine, it’s an expertly curated bottle of wine paired with other scrumptious goodies. I’m in!
