Now that you have made a very smart decision to go green with your wine, here is my review of Plonk Wine Club, a great way to enjoy organic wines that have been hand-curated from every corner of the world.

There are many terrific benefits to Plonk Wine Club. First, the monthly club features natural wines that are grown using organic and biodynamic methods, which means no pesticides or commercial additives such as colorants, acidifiers, artificial sugars, alcohol enhancements, or chemicals of any kind. Good for you and good for the earth!

Second, you will receive hidden gem wines made from lesser-known grapes that come from both historic and emerging viticultural regions. You’ll get the opportunity to taste wines that are native to their specific place of origin, and in many cases, can’t be found anywhere else in the world. Here is a sample of the rare and unusual grapes that make up this wine club:

Aglianico, Alicante Bouschet, Arinto, Arneis, Assyrtiko, Blaufrankisch, Bobal, Bonarda, Canaiolo, Croatina, Dolcetto, Falanghina, Frappato, Friulano, Furmint, Gamay, Greco, Lacrima, Loureiro, Malvasia, Manzoni Bianco, Mencia, Negroamaro, Nero d’Avola, Piedirosso, Plavac Mali, Pugnitello, Refosco, Ribolla Gialla, Saperavi, Scheurebe, St. Laurent, Teroldego, Treixadura, Trepat, Verdicchio, Viura, and Zweigelt.

That’s quite a list! There are so many I don’t recognize, but would love to try.

Break out your passport! The club features wines from Argentina, Australia, Austria, California, Chile, PassportCroatia, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, New York, New Zealand, Oregon, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Uruguay, and Washington.

An additional benefit to the Plonk Wine Club is the many choices you have with your selection. There is a red wine club, a white wine club, a mixed wine club, a Cabernet Sauvignon club, a Pinot Noir club and a Sauvignon Blanc club. So many choices give you plenty of options for yourself and to give as a gift.

The pricing varies upon the wine club selected with the red, white and mixed monthly clubs coming in nearly $10 less (about $55 for two bottles) than the varietal monthly clubs (about $65 for two bottles). Pricing goes down a few dollars for 3, 6 and 12 month shipments. If giving this as a gift, a 3 month option is an excellent choice that won’t break the bank but will give the happy recipient a few months of experiencing some wonderful wines from around the world. These are wines that you can’t find elsewhere which makes them extra special.

In addition to the wine, the wine club also includes a Plonk corkscrew (you gotta love that!), tasting notes, recipe pairings, free shipping!! and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Do I recommend Plonk Wine Club? Heck yeah. I’d love to have someone selecting organic wines for me that are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee and come from artisanal vineyards around the globe. I love that they are not tied to a specific vineyard but can source from wherever they find the best tasting wine.

My only caveat with this wine club would be to try it for a shorter amount of time, like the 3 month option, so you can make sure you like what you are getting before committing to (and paying for) a longer duration. Chances are, you are going to like what you get and can then decide to go for a longer option.
